Well,
Sadly for me, the summer is winding down. I go back to school soon, so I have been trying to finish up some projects around the house.
I am going to put a few things up today, and have a few more posts to follow. I also have 2 quandaries that I need help with...
The first- does anyone have an idea what this is? I found it for .50 on Goodwill's 1/2 off day and thought I could use it to display a chalkboard tray, but that doesn't work. What should I do with it? My next quandry will come with my part two post. Thanks for the ideas!
So, I had this vase- thought it was a bit boring...
Then I made a moss ball and put it on top...
(don't know why it is sideways)
Still thought it was a bit bland, so I sprayed the vase white and here is the result
(again, turn your head sideways lol).
So, here is my final result, along with my .99 iron cheese display (with bird nest & eggs) and my .50 silver chalkboard tray and .50 iron display. It was originally a cheap gold color- but a bit of white helped it out.
I really like how it turned out! Thinking about maybe changing the tray holder color, but I am not sure what I should change it to. I spray painted the iron cheese display is a dark brown (it was blue), but I think that would be too much for the tray holder. Oh well... I am pleased with how it turned out.
Be on the look out for part two soon!
Check out all of the other thrifty finds over at Southern Hospitality :) or the great makeovers at Between Naps on the Porch
It's looking pretty! I can't wait to see the finished product.
ReplyDeleteHave a wonderful weekend.

It did turn out lovely.

I love it, and I love your little chalkboard too!
ReplyDeleteKat, does your black thingee stand on its three smallest legs? Can't tell from this picture, but it looks similar to a piece I used to own. It had glass candle holders that hung from the larger "hooks." It could be retro fitted to do that, BTW.
ReplyDeleteLove that you painted the vase/urn. I think you should do the same with the cheese/holder, too. You didn't have plans to use it for food, right?
:-) Sue
Ohh...lovin' the big vase that you painted. Looks so chic!
ReplyDeleteI think everything looks really pretty. I have no idea what the holder thing is though that you found at Goodwill.
ReplyDeleteLove your finds, love that moss ball and it looks awesome with the white!!
ReplyDeleteKat-You are good shopper! I would have thought that was an easel--let us know when you figure itout. Love the urn with the moss and the chalkboard tray. You can turn your pictures when you open them on yur computer--click turn clockwise or counter clockwise.
ReplyDeleteVery nice finds & way to redo them!
ReplyDeleteI have one of those black things. It used to hold hanging candles but I use it to hang jewelry from. Like all those cute little bracelets you get as teaching gifts!
ReplyDeleteLOVE the moss ball! I'm going to try to do one this week too!
ReplyDeleteWhat about an ornament hanger? Hard to tell the size of it, but i have something similar I use to display special ornaments at Christmas
ReplyDeleteI love all the comments :)
ReplyDeleteI think I have been inspired to do something with the mystery item... will post an update soon.
Thanks for all of the ideas!
thanks for stopping by and commenting! I love all of your finds! The platter chalkboard is great!!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe you found an iron cheese display w/ bird and eggs for .99 cents! And the tray is fabulous, I will be trying to do one over the weekend. Heck I may even do 2!
